Becoming One Of eBay's PowerSellers

We all know eBay.com, the online auction giant with a membership of over a 100 million, but what really is an Ebay PowerSeller that only constitutes about 4% of that membership? Well, this title is bestowed upon members who sell goods and gross over $1000 to over $150,000 each month. Well, then read on, and you might just become a part of that illustrious 4%!

The first thing to note, is that Ebay Powersellers are seriously organized. Even if they haven't invested thousands of dollars into their operations, they still treat what they do as a real business, which means that with application and dedication, you can do it too.

Powersellers are deeply organized and they develop processes to guarantee that all the listings, packing and shipping of all their wares are delivered on time. They focus intensely on details and develop a schedule for each task. And they know that one can't emphasize how important it is to stay informed about the trends and changes in the auction market and with eBay. Here, it is useful to participate in eBay message boards, forums and pay attention to eBay announcements. This way, policy or trend changes wouldn't negatively affect one's modus operandi. And anything that is too trivial and doesn't require their attention, they delegate. As the business continues to grow, they can afford to let someone else do all the menial and repetitive tasks while they can focus on product acquisition and marketing.

Yet a few simpler points first:

A Powerseller use high-quality photos and scans of their items. Good images and presentation increases the appeal of the item, thus the chances of a sale.

A Powerseller would use headings with keywords, knowing that descriptions are unnecessary in the headings. The heading needs to be keyword rich, so that search engines can pick up the item.

A PowerSeller uses a Dutch auction, it saves time, and everyone knows, time is money. He also knows that it would also be useful to ‘Bulk List' his auctions – this is helpful to organize time.

A Powerseller offers a variety of payment options to his customer, making everyone's lives easier and he knows that he doesn't want to lose out on a good sale simply because he can't comply with the method of payment. He knows that it is useful to have one's own website.

A Powerseller knows the value of discounts on bulk items and the idea of creating a customer base.

And eventually, a Powerseller is willing to invest in his business. This is necessary if one wishes to grow. Not only is it useful to invest in acquiring new items, yet also in improving one's own workstation. And then again, what is one's work station, but home? And a powerseller knows that here, he is his own boss, and who wouldn't want to earn and at the same time, be free?
